Has your place gone mad with the RWC happening?

Hello to you all,

Has your place gone mad with the RWC happening? It seems to have added an extra something to the atmosphere in Invercargill and plus a few brave souls have tried some jet boating with us down the wild Wairaurahiri River. We’ve added heated hand rails to the boat during winter which has been a very welcome addition along with head to toe covering with water proof jackets I suppose they don’t need to be that brave…….

Sadly or happily there hasn’t been many dirty rotten stoats and rats caught over the winter.

Maybe there is less of them to catch but more likely they have just got more cunning.

I’m going to try changing my bait on the South Coast traps, I think I will give eggs a go….

Maybe the wee horrors are in need of a change in diet.

The river traps are all looking good and are getting re-baited by Johan as he passes to get them ready for the Summer season.

I along with the help of volunteers have checked the South Coast traps about 3 times over the winter,

There is still no sign of traps being put out on the Hump Track hopefully with their new season opening soon they will get them out and catching critters.

That’s it till next time,

Take care and keep your powder dry.
